As November comes to an end, the holiday season quickly approaches. Within all the preparation chaos, something that will never be forgotten is the gifts. Most people begin creating their Christmas lists in early November.
“I add to it all the way until December”, said sophomore Callie Bergen. Every year there is always the “must have gift” for people. For sophomore Gabby Donish it’s “the Tasman Uggs”, because “I love the detailing on them.” These comfy shoes “will likely be completely sold out in a few weeks,” Forbes Magazine shares.
Another hot gift this year is the Stanley tumbler. Sophomore Lilly Patton says the Stanley’s at the top of her list “because it’s cute and holds water good”. Both of these items likely gained their popularity through TikTok where they quickly became trends.
As for the guy’s gift guide this year, it’s a bit more specific. Since sophomore Jake Dickey spends a lot
less time scrolling on the internet, he needs, not wants, “new car speakers”. His explanation was a lot more practical than the girls’ answers. “They would sound really good, and my current ones are bad” and “they would make driving better because the music would sound better”, said Dickey.
Apple products are popular every year and they’re back, with new products to sell. Freshman Emma Harrella, wants the new iPhone 15 to upgrade from her iPhone 8. “[I’m] getting a bit tired of the phone I have now…it runs slow”, said Harella. Along the lines of apple products, Sophomore Alina Prieto wants the famous pink apple AirPod Pro Max headphones. These headphones have recently gone viral on social media, like many other items. “They are super cute, they’re noise canceling and it’s so pretty and pink” Prieto said. Apple products are daily use for many people, much like shoes. With many different styles and brands, shoes are a reoccurring gift that people ask for during the holidays. A popular pair of shoes this season are the Nike low red retro dunks for Christmas. “The red Nike dunks are really cool, and I have never had a pair of Nike dunks before so, I would love to get a pair for Christmas’’ South said. While gift giving can be stressful this time of year, consider what the person wants or needs, what’s trending, or what they’re never had before.
