AI Real or Fake

As technology keeps advancing, society has quickly adapted by incorporating it into everyday lives. Specifically, artificial intelligence has become widely used in schools and classrooms. Chatbots like Google Gemini, ChatGPT, and Gauth Ai have allowed students and teachers to gain information and create ideas to help with schoolwork much faster than in the past. With the growing use of Ai, it has also raised ethical questions and concerns about how its reliance undermines learning or if it is fair. Due to this, AI has changed how people learn and teach in schools.

The use of AI can be both beneficial and harmful. When used appropriately, AI can help teach difficult material a student struggles comprehending. It can also provide explanations adjusted for the student’s learning style. Its rapid feedback can be utilized as another resource for major projects and assignments kids need. Teachers can also use AI to help make lessons and generate ideas to help the class. As helpful AI can be, it is sometimes used irresponsibly. Students have become heavily dependent on their personable chatbots to complete their assignments. Having said that, the necessary skills like critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity can be weakened due to students not practicing it often. Kids are not building their knowledge and experience for the real world, and it makes them less prepared.

AI also creates a challenge for teachers. With AI generated work, teachers may have difficulty interpreting which work is real or stolen. This can make grading more complicated and raise many ethical questions. Teachers must determine if a student is academically honest or if they copyright everything. Because of this, instructors have to enforce stricter policies and rules to catch people who use artificial intelligence as well as help students understand the lesson given.

As the popularity of AI grows, the way schools and classrooms run has changed.  Since chatbots are impacting so many classrooms, there may not be a way to completely ban or prevent it. For some schools, they have acknowledged AI is not going away and utilizes it as a tool or resource to gather information quickly and efficiently. They also can teach students how to use it responsibly, rather than taking it away. The use of artificial intelligence in schools can be both beneficial and negatively impactful on teachers and students.
