With homecoming around the corner, students are starting to think about one of the most important aspects of the night. Homecoming attire is something that many students plan in advance in order to have their perfect outfit. This year, homecoming is set to be on Saturday, October 5th at Innisbrook Resort. From dresses to suits, the night will be filledwith amazing styles of fashion regardless of where and how they got their attire. Based on a poll posted on The Oracle Instagram, most students voted that they preferred in person shopping as opposed to online shopping.
“I prefer in person shopping. It’s easier to judge if something is good enough to buy,” said sophomore Kevin Reyes. Going to a store allows you to physically see the item and make sure there isn’t anything wrong with the clothing that affects how it looks. Going in person also allows people to clarify if their clothes are fitting.
“…I can try on the dresses and see how they would look…and if the color looks good on me,” said sophomore Isabel Libreros. There are endless styles and fabric options to choose from and being in store allows them to easily try on as many as they want. A popular activity students love to do is go out and shop with their friends to try the many options held at stores.
Finding the right outfit in stores isn’t easy, so some people turn to online shopping. “I prefer to shop online because there is more variation online than in person,” said freshmanAileen Zuaznabar. A lot of the time clothing items that aren’t held in the store can usually be found on the store’s website which makes this option more convenient for some.
While homecoming is still three weeks away, students have already bought some of their outfits while others are still looking. This year’s homecoming theme is 24K gold which features gold, glitter, and a lot of shimmer.
“I’m getting a maroon suit with a gold tie and gold jewelry,” said Reyes. Fitting in with the theme is an exciting way to create a cohesive environment with outfits but it’s not required.
Homecoming is one of the many exciting events that opens the school year. Whether shopping online or in person, both are effective ways to get homecoming attire to show off on homecoming night.
