The Steinbrenner Lady Warriors basketball team has started the 2023-24 season off with a 4-2 record. The Lady Warriors opened the season at Mitchell High School on November 28th and got their first win  with a score of 56-43. The team was led by senior Danae Blacketer with 13 points, Junior Naomi Parker with 12 points, and freshman Sarah Coble with 10 points. Then the Warriors faced Academy of the Holy Names on November 30th. Sadly, the Warriors came up short but fought to the end with a final score of 52-37. Steinbrenner looked to bounce back in their first home game of the season against the Sickles Griffins. Unfortunately, the Griffins outscored the Warriors 60-48.

Following back to back losses the Lady Warriors played the Chargers of Strawberry Crest high school at home. The ladies dominated the Chargers with a score of 63-12. A huge win was led by Naomi Parker with 17 points, Brooke DiCampli with 10, Sarah Coble with 9, and Danae Blacketer with 8. They used the momentum and energy in their game against Blake, winning 80-24. The Lady Dubs wrapped up the start of the season with an outstanding 84-5 win against the Alonso Ravens. With the Warriors having an undefeated week, Head Coach Alex Hertenstein said, “Looking forward to playing some better competition and really allowing the team to be a challenge on the court and just looking forward to seeing how far this team can accomplish.” The Lady Warriors will look to use their momentum this upcoming week when going on to play Jefferson, Middleton, and Gaither before the break.
