Junior wide receiver, Brenan Lowe was an amazing asset to the Steinbrenner Warriors football team this season, breaking a single season record of 68 receptions. He has been playing football for about 10 years and has been a part of the Steinbrenner team since his freshman year.

Being a part of the team has given Brenan many memories that he will cherish forever. He said his favorite memory of the 2023 season was “…breaking the record and running over to the sideline and having all my teammates and coaches there, waiting for me and celebrating with me.” With great support from his teammates, he kept his momentum up for the next game at Riverview and won, ending the season on a high note. After the season Brenan was asked how he felt about breaking the record, saying, “It was pretty cool, but honestly it’s my job to catch the ball, so I expected it.” He has made his coaches proud with his hard dedication and positive attitude. Brenan has made an huge impact on the team and his Coach has nothing but positive things to say. Coach Perez, the head coach for Steinbrenner’s Football team says that Lowe’s “…work ethic, dedication, his passion for football, shines through and when that all comes together with being a great kid and everything kind of comes together then all of a sudden you see that product on the field is really good and I think that’s what we’re seeing and that’s a tribute to his record setting this year.”

Brenan will be a senior next year and has high expectations from coaches that he will only get so much better, and they are excited to see his football career grow. Football has been a big part of his life as he’s been playing for so long that it has become a big part of his life. He said his goal “is to play football at the next level and then to prepare for that just keep doing what I’m doing and playing hard.” Lowe will have to work harder at the next level and is starting to prepare for that challenge in his high school career.
