In the past few years, Steinbrenner Girls Lacrosse has had endless accomplishments. From going to state semi-finals twice to having nine 2023 seniors commit to colleges such as Northwestern and the University of Tampa, the team has put forth all effort to succeed.

More recently, the team went head on head with Lake Highland Prep on March 21st. With the school being ranked number one in the state, the game was expected to be a tough matchup.

Throughout the game, the Warriors and Lake Highland Prep went back and forth. The team put forth all their efforts to come out on top, which were proven to be successful when Steinbrenner ended with nine points and Lake Highland finished with eight.

“Overall, our team moved together very well with the ball, and we played very calmly and collected. It was definitely one of our best [games] so far this season,” said Senior Rori Prilik.

With their opponents being located in Orlando, Girls Lacrosse made the trip down to play for Lake Highland Prep’s ‘senior night’, a night to celebrate the graduating players of the class of 2023.

For the Lady Warriors, this night will be held on April 3rd. The team is preparing well, with senior banners already being hung up on the field. The game is against Sickles, and will be the last of regular season games before the team’s hopeful road to states

With this win against Lake Highland, the Warriors are looking forward to moving closer to state championships and hopefully going into the finals this year.

“It was one of our hardest games of the season, and it was a very close game the whole time. Our team stuck together and played one of our best games and came out on top…,” said Senior Taylor Lapointe.

As a result of their 9-8 win over Lake Highland, Steinbrenner is looking like a strong competitor for the 2023 state finals, where they will continue to put forth all efforts to go as far as possible this season.
