No matter what happens to Will or Schnapp in real life, fans will always continue to uplift and support the actor. Many teens now look to Schnapp as a role model and an inspiration who helps them feel confident in who they love.

Noah Schnapp, an 18-year-old actor best known for playing Will Byers in Netflix’s Stranger Things, came out as gay in his latest TikTok.  He posted the video to a sound that said “You know what it was never was? That serious. Quite frankly, it will never be that serious.” The video had text that read, “When I finally told my friends and family, I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was “we know”.” And he included a caption that said, “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.”

This comes after speculation about the sexuality of his character Will, and fans thinking he is in love with his best friend Mike played by Finn Wolfhard. This was confirmed by Schnapp last year in an interview, that Will is gay after the show has been hinting at it during all four seasons. The writers of Stranger Things have also been teasing it to fans in recent interviews.

Student fans at Steinbrenner and supporters all over social media went to the TikTok comment section to show their support for Schnapp. Students have been watching the show since the beginning and have followed Noah along for throughout his acting journey.

“I think it’s great that Noah felt comfortable enough to come out to all his supporters, and I know everyone still loves and supports him as an actor,” said sophomore Nico Massari who has been a Stranger Things fan for a couple of years now.

“I know a lot of people can relate to Noah and I think this allows him to connect with his fans more,” says Massari.
