There has always been controversy over the right time to start celebrating Christmas. While some people believe that it should be as soon as November starts, thers say to wait until after Thanksgiving. Starbucks clearly shows that they start as soon as possible. On November 7th, Starbucks altered the menu by adding their holiday lineup for customers to be able to order. As everyone is still enjoying the holiday flavors, should the holiday cheer get pushed back?
This year’s menu is back with the classics. The famous Peppermint Mocha, Sugar Cookie Latte, and Gingerbread Oatmilk Chai have returned per request over the rave of enjoyment from last year’s customers.
Senior, Clareese Alfajora, tried the hot Peppermint Mocha. “It had a strong chocolate flavor with just a hint of peppermint.” She gives this drink a positive review and would recommend it for people looking for new beverages to try.
“I do think we should start celebrating Christmas right after Thanksgiving,” stated Alfajora, believing there should be some space in between holidays, but thinks the menu dropped at the perfect time. “I love the holiday season. It gives me something to look forward to.”
One of the more popular drinks, the Sugar Cookie Latte, is loved by most. But Sofie Blank, a sophomore at Steinbrenner disagrees. Though believing her drink was made wrong, she loved the beverage last year. She states, “It tasted watery and wasn’t enjoyable. I couldn’t taste any of the flavors.”
Although, she is a lover of the holiday, Christmas, Blank believes that the menu came out at the right time. “If the drinks were to come out later in December, there wouldn’t be enough time to enjoy them.”
If you are still wanting to celebrate the fall season, Starbucks’ fall menu lasts until mid to late November. Whether you dive into the Christmas season early or believe in waiting, you can enjoy both seasons at the same time while their drinks overlap.
