With the start of the football season underway, let’s hear what the Warriors bringing us to the top had to say.
Jaydon Page #1
Jaydon Page is a junior this year playing as a receiver for Steinbrenner. He started playing at the age of four and has been on the field for 12 years. His favorite part of football is the friendships and bonds that came from it. “The discipline I’ve learned stands out the most… never give up,” Page said.
Rylen Dutka #2
Rylen Dutka, a 10th grader, is the varsity quarterback. Like Page, he began playing at the age of 4 and was inspired by his dad’s love for the sport. He values the excitement, atmosphere of the game, and the leadership that comes from his position. “Never take it too seriously and be sure to have fun in the game,” sophomore Rylen Dutka states.
Evan Martin #4
Evan Martin, a defensive end and long snapper, is part of the Class of 2027. He decided to start his football career after his freshman year and has been on the team for three years. Martin’s favorite part of football is the friendships he’s made and the way the sport helps him clear his head. He’s learned that hard work pays off, and he encourages young players to keep working and not get discouraged.
CJ Davis #7
CJ Davis, a junior cornerback, has been playing football for three years. Looking for a sport to commit to, he found his place in football. His favorite things about football are the friendships he’s made, and he has learned the importance of teamwork. To young football players, his advice is to stay dedicated.
Isaiah Robinson #8
Isaiah Robinson, an 11th-grade running back, started playing when he was young with the support of his mom. At the age of 7, an injury forced him to take a break, but he returned to the sport in 6th grade and has loved it ever since. He values the family-like bond he has built with his teammates and says football has taught him discipline. “Work hard if you really want it, but if not, just have fun in the game, “Robinson said, advising young players.
Reece Sellers #9
A senior this year, Reece Sellers plays defensive end, H-back, and middle linebacker. Inspired by his dad, he has been playing for 10 years. Sellers enjoys the contact and physicality of football and has learned teamwork from both the sport and his father. “Don’t be afraid to go all out and get physical,” said Sellers.
Luke Dorsey #40
Luke Dorsey, a junior, plays H-back and tackle. He started in 3rd grade after switching from baseball, encouraged by his mom to try something new. Now with 10 years of experience, his favorite part of football is the opportunities he’s had and the people he’s met through the game. The biggest lesson he learned is how to be a good team player. “Stay dedicated and work hard,” advised Dorsey.
