Mrs. Roy is not just a teacher she is an inspiration. With an enthusiasm that can make any student having a bad day smile. She has a deep love for teaching and for her students. Her journey into teaching was unexpected but also life changing from a single moment that changed everything.
“I initially wanted to be an elementary school teacher” she recalls. “But when I went to volunteer hours for my major the elementary school table was too crowded….so I went over to the high school table.
Later she met one of the best teachers she had ever seen. He Was very inspiring to her and led her to falling in love with teaching. Her love for learning and sharing biology with others, paired with her natural connection with students, solidified her path and helped her to become one of the most inspiring teachers Steinbrenner has seen.
Born and raised in Plant City, Mrs. Roy had an active childhood, spending much of her time swimming. She later attended University of Florida, and after graduating she took a leap of faith and moved to Texas.
Her adventurous spirit has carried into her personal life as well. She carries a deep love for her family and pets with five chickens named Reba Shirley, Frannie, Libby and peeps. Her daughter Claire loves the chickens and her favorite is Reba. Claire is her sweet little angel and Mrs. Roy is already so proud of her.
She is only 3 years old and turning into a little lady. Apart from Claire, she also has a dog named Roco. Lastly, she has a husband Rob. He is very important to her and helps her follow her dreams everyday.
Mrs. Roy is a great inspiration and has a personality that brightens the room constantly which is why her students love her so much. One of her students Nevaeh Tabor even stated “She is my favorite teacher because she genuinely cares about us and teaches so passionately we know she wants us to succeed.”
Mrs. Roy is little to none, great at teaching and such an inspiration to all the students motivating them to learn more everyday. She always makes her lessons so much fun by helping her students remember important things with her originally crafted rhymes. Everyone can agree she is inspiring and motivational, and Steinbrenner high school loves her.
