Students often struggle to find which water bottle brand is best for them in their everyday lives. They may go through countless brands or styles until they find their own comfort bottle, but that can be eliminated by weighing out the pros and cons of each brand. Everyone will have their own opinion on which one will suit them most, but overall, popular brands tend to be the most favored.
There are five main brands that people tend to lean towards: Stanley, Owala, HydroFlask, Yeti, and Nike. Each has their own unique flare that draws different people in. Exploring these in depth may help to confirm certain people’s purchases.
The first and most favorable option are Stanley water bottles. This water bottle has spiked in popularity because of its unique style and the benefits that come with it. One of the first pros of this brand is its insulation ability.
“It keeps your water cold all day and I usually don’t have to refill it,” says sophomore Ayvah Rodriguez. This is a common opinion among students and even adults across the nation. Stanleys are also loved for their classic handle, which makes carrying easier.
While it is the most favorable, it still has its cons. Held at the right angle, water will leak out of the lid. This is an annoyance when needing to carry the bottle around, especially in school hallways.
Another type of water bottle people carry around is an affordable and stylish option for people who love vibrant colors and practicality. Owalas comes in loads of colorful choices and assorted size options.
“If I were to buy a new bottle, I would choose an Owala because it’s cool,” said sophomore Scarlet Ferrer. These bottles come with a convenient straw-and-sip combination so there are multiple uses for it.
Aside from this, people find it difficult to clean all the parts of the bottle, as the top and straw are complicated. People also found the lid hard to shut or uncomfortable to hold.
HydroFlasks are a commonly used water bottle, especially during the times of quarantine in 2020. These bottles are still preferable among the general population for reasons such as its insulation ability, color options, and its comfortable handle. People report that its most prevalent feature is its ability to keep liquids cold for extended periods of time.
However, on the opposing side of things, HydroFlasks are made of good quality metal, making them very heavy or uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time.
A popular staple in most people’s lives is a very commonly known one called Yeti. Most people like this brand because of its ability to insulate very well and it is very easy to hold. Another reason for its popularity is also its warrantee that lasts for about 5 years. Austin Rath, a Junior at Steinbrenner, comments that he “Loved his Yeti.”
Cons seen from this brand include its high price range, that will stun most people who buy for convenience. Another con about this brand is that they are low on supplies most of the time.
Finally, Nike is a very well-known brand for its structure that allows you to efficiently drink water from its Fast Water Flow nozzle. Many athletes favor this brand because it’s quick and easy to use at games, practice, and other events. The bottle is also compact and can be stored in one’s bag to save room. Sophomore Hayden Ipox explains that if he were to buy another bottle it would be, “Those Nike bottles, it would be so tuff.”
While widely admired by many, these bottles lack the ability to keep water cold all day and are not utterly secure from the outside world. Due to their flexible material, they can easily spill or break.
While these brands are top picks from others, they are not the only brands available on the market. There are still many options that have lots of benefits and could even be seen as the perfect water bottle. Hopefully, this list makes it easier to decide for anyone who may be looking bottle.
