Over the past four years the social media app, TikTok, has been a global phenomenon. All sorts of trends start on the app, such as clothing styles, movies/television, and food. Certain food trends have recently become viral, called “Food Hacks.” These “hacks” include different food combinations and special fast-food orders. These are three of the mosr interesting ones, the “chickle,” a home-made Nutella uncrustable, and a McDonalds apple pie sundae.

Apple Pie Sundae: This is made by ordering both a caramel sundae and apple pie from McDonalds. Then you break up the apple pie and mix it piece by piece until the whole pie is distributed into the ice cream. Overall, this one was an 8/10. Despite it being a little messy and melting the ice cream, it tasted good. The warm apple pie mixed with cold ice cream and caramel was a great combination, so I would try this one again.

The “Chickle”: Made from searing cheese in a pan and wrapping it over a dill pickle. Though it may seem like an odd combination, many people have described it as one of their favorite snacks. However, I rated it a 3/10. The taste of the fried cheese did not pair well with the pickle at all. It tasted odd and the texture was off with the cheese being melted and the pickle being juicy, so I would not try this again.

Home-made Nutella uncrustable: This is made by spreading a dollop of Nutella into the center of two slices of bread stacked on top of each other. You then grab a small cup and cut out a circle of the two slices of bread. Pinch the sides of the ucrustable together to ensure that it stays closed and put it into a toaster. When finished it should be golden brown and crispy. I would rate this a 7/10. The uncrustable was pretty easy to make and tasted pretty good. The inside was warm and gooey, and the outside was crispy. However, it might be easier to buy uncrustables from the store.

Overall, Tik Tok food hacks can result in a new favorite snack or create a complete taste aversion.
