On Friday, April 19, 2024, Taylor Swift’s eleventh studio album is being released. It has been teased with black and white photos all over her Instagram, and people are eager to hear it.
Senior Bailey Cook says, “I’ve always wanted the album to sound like folklore or evermore, but it’s been rumored to be synthetic pop.”
Folklore and evermore are both alternative styles of music, and a lot of people were hoping to get another one of those albums. Synthetic pop would be a new genre for Swift, and people are excited to see how she does it.
One of her songs is going to feature Post Malone on it, sophomore Olivia Martinez says, “I think it’ll be interesting because he has a good voice when it’s not rap.”
Post Malone is known for his rap songs, but he also has a very good singing voice. Swift has had people rap in her songs before, but having Post Malone sing in his feature would be interesting. Everybody knows about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, and when asked about whether or not she’ll include him in these songs, Cook and Martinez have different opinions.
“Yes she writes about every man and is in love with him,” said Martinez.
On the opposing side, Cook says, “No, their relationship is new and Taylor has been working on this album for two years now. This seems more like a breakup album.”
Both of these opinions are interesting, and both have good points and reasonings behind them.
Cook also says, “I think this will be one of her best albums.” Her reasons being the titles tracks, length, and the art.
The production and advertisement for this album is hyping it up to be very good and people are waiting to hear just how good it will be.
“I think ‘So Long, London’ will be my favorite because it’s ten minutes long,” said Martinez.
A lot of people love Taylor Swifts All Too Well ten minute version, so having another ten minute song on the way is exciting for many people. People are speculating this song to be about Joe Alwyn, since he is from London, and they recently broke up last year. Overall, people are very excited for this album as it is long awaited.
