Some things to keep in mind when finalizing your programing sheet. For freshman there is going to be a change to your GPA. Instead of their GPA being able to go on above a 5.0 it will now stay at the highest you can get, which is a 5.0 weighted. This will cause a couple of issues. One of those would be determining who would get to be valedictorian and how they can reward that if everyone has the same GPA.
“I think the GPA change is a good thing because now not as many people would compete for valedictorian,” said freshman Joshua Cotto.
“I think that the GPA for freshman will be good since there isn’t as much competition,” said freshman Juan Carlos.
“I feel that it is a good thing for two reasons, one reason is that I don’t have so much pressure of doing a lot of AP classes to boost my GPA because it won’t affect my GPA in any way. Another reason I think this is good is because now i can see my exact GPA that universities will look at,” said Freshman Lexi Medina.
The debate about Ace VS. AP courses. What’s the difference? ACE is generally the same credit, just an easier exam at the end of the year. AP is a college credit course that in most cases are very vigorous classes and have difficult exams at the end of the year.
“I signed up for AP precalculus in which I know will be pretty difficult, but I’m up for the challenge,” said freshman Joshua Cotto.
“I signed up for Aice marine biology, Aice General paper, and Aice physical education,” said freshman Juan Carlos.
“I didn’t take any Ap or Aice classes but i did take dual enrollment and I’m very excited for forensics,” said Sophomore Alyssa Alejo.
