Coca-Cola Crockpot Pulled Pork Tacos

This tantalizing pork dish will be a perfect addition to any Cinco De Mayo celebration! It’s tasty, traditional and bound to be a family favorite!

These pork tacos melt in your mouth with such a rich and religious taste it feels like a choir of angels singing sweetly in your mouth. This delicacy has been a staple in my house, and it is the perfect way to dress up your Taco Tuesday. The one key ingredient in this dish will have your taste buds blown away. 

You will need for this recipe: 

  • A crock-pot or slow cooker 
  • Measuring cup 
  • Two forks 

 

Tips and Tricks: 

  • The seasonings for this pork are mild and you can add more spices as needed. 

 

Yield: One pork butt 

Prep Time: 30 minutes 

Cook Time: 10 hours 

Ingredients: 

  • 1 pork shoulder or pork butt 
  • 12 oz of Coca-Cola 
  • 1 ½ onion powder tbsp 
  • 1 ½ garlic powder tbsp 
  • 1 ½ ground black pepper 
  • 1 tbsp salt 
  • 2 bottle barbeque sauce 
  • Any traditional taco toppings: tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, sour cream 

Instructions: 

  1. Rinse off the pork and pat dry, then lay with the fat slab facing up in the slow cooker. 
  1. In a small bowl mix together the onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, salt and barbeque sauce and then pour the mixture over the pork. 
  1. Pour the Coke over the pork and cook on high for 5 hours or low for 10 hours depending on your time constraints. 
  1. Cut the roast in half, remove and discard the bones and save a cup of the liquid. 
  1. Shred the meat using two forks and then add the cup of liquid back in. Drizzle on more bbq sauce and mix well. 
  1. Cook for 30 more minutes on low while you prepare the rest of the toppings. Enjoy!
