Holiday Treats February 13th: Pink Velvet Valentine’s Day Cupcakes
Pink velvet cupcakes are a delicious dessert for Valentines Day to share with friends and family. It consists of pink cake mix with yummy toppings like frosting, heart candies, and sprinkles. These cupcakes have a flavorful vanilla taste that will make anyone’s Valentines Day better.
Tools you need:
-cupcake pan(s)
-cupcake liners or nonstick spray
-bowl
-spoon
-knife
Recommendations for stores-
To get the ingredients would be places like Publix, target, and Walmart. Some good brands of cake mix would be Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, or Duncan Hines. For a great valentines day look, you should color the batter pink to cover the pink velvet cake and frosting pink, purple, or red (valentines day colors).
Prep time: 30-45 minutes
Cook time: around 12-17 minutes (check exact time on the back of the cake mix box)

Ingredients:
-yellow cake mix
-buttercream frosting
-1 cup of water
-½ cup of vegetable oil
-3 eggs
-candy hearts
-sprinkles
-food coloring (of choice)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350-375 degrees
Pour the yellow cake mix into a dry bowl
Pour 1 cup of water, ½ cup of vegetable oil, and 3 eggs into the bowl of cake mix
Stir everything together until it’s all wet and there are no lumps
Place liners into the cupcake pan and the pan with nonstick spray
Pour the cake batter into the cupcake pan, fill each cup around ¾ full.
Once the oven is done preheating, place the pan into the oven and set a timer for the time needed on the back of the box
Once the timer goes off, take the cupcakes out of the oven, and let them cool for 10 minutes
To prepare the frosting drop a few drops of food coloring into the frosting tub and stir it around until everything is colored, make sure to get the bottom and sides
Then take one cupcake at a time and frost the top of the cupcake with a knife
Finally, to decorate the cupcake place candy hearts and sprinkles on top
